Los Angeles is a city brimming with immersive experiences, but few compare to the emotional depth and innovative storytelling of

The Nest at Hatch Escapes. After experiencing it myself, I can confidently say that this is more than just a game—it’s a poignant journey through someone’s life, and it left a lasting impression on me.

An Intriguing First Step

From the moment I stepped into the dimly lit, meticulously detailed storage unit, I knew I was in for something special. Armed with a flashlight and a cassette player, I felt like an investigator unraveling a mystery. The space itself is packed with artifacts that feel so authentic, they could have been plucked from someone’s real-life storage unit. Every detail is intentional, pulling you deeper into the story.

A Story That Stays With You

The experience revolves around Josie, whose life you piece together through a series of cassette tapes hidden throughout the room. As I uncovered more of her story, I found myself completely engrossed. Her journey felt real—full of joy, heartbreak, and moments of quiet reflection. It wasn’t just a game; it was a deeply human narrative that made me pause and think about the people and memories we leave behind.

Puzzles That Enhance the Story

Unlike many escape rooms, the puzzles in The Nest aren’t designed to stump you but to guide you through the story. They’re thoughtful, intuitive, and perfectly balanced. Each challenge felt like a natural extension of Josie’s life, making me feel more like a participant in her world than a player solving puzzles.

Things to Keep in Mind

Closeness

The experience is designed for 1-4 people, but I’d recommend going solo or with one other person. It’s deeply personal, and a smaller group lets you fully immerse yourself.

Final Thoughts

The Nest is one of the most impactful immersive experiences I’ve ever had. It’s a masterclass in environmental storytelling, blending puzzles, atmosphere, and emotion into something truly unforgettable. Whether you’re a fan of escape rooms, immersive theater, or narrative-driven experiences, this is a must-try.

Hatch Escapes has created something extraordinary with The Nest, and I can’t wait to see what they dream up next. If you’re in Los Angeles, don’t miss the chance to experience this gem.
